Alumni Assn

  • SC Delta Alumni Association

The Association is a recognized and chartered organization with the National Fraternity. The National Laws require us to pay annual dues of $100 (as well as $100 to Province Rho) and submit a report of previous year's activities by March 1. This entitles the Association to have one vote at the bi annual National Convention and the Province Rho regional conference. In addition, we are required to have an annual business meeting to elect or appoint officers to one year terms.

    Activities

Our traditional annual event has been Homecoming Reunion, which is held during Homecoming football weekends. Sometimes we co-sponsor the event with the chapter and parents. The Friday evening before the game tends to be the best time for the social, which includes open bar and light hors d'oeuvres.

    Chapter Education Fund

The SAE Foundation provides chapter alumni organizations and housing corporations with the option of creating Chapter Education and Allocation Funds on behalf of their affiliated chapters.  These funds are created through tax-deductible donations from alumni and friends and are for the express purpose of benefiting the educational needs of the chapter members.

In 2001, the Association started a CEF with the Foundation in honor of the late Mike Adair. It has since been expanded to include a number of brothers who passed into the "chapter eternal", such as Preston Reid ('75), and the active members who perished in the Oct 2008 fire (see "Forever to Thee").

More information and benefits of the CEF are here.

    Leadership School

We also assist the active members with travel expenses to Leadership School, which sometimes can be as much as the tuition.

  • Volunteers Needed

Numerous opportunities exist for alumni to share their personal and professional experiences with the chapter by conducting professional development workshops (resume writing, interview skills, financial planning), attending recruitment events, assisting with ritual ceremonies or just being a mentor. Many of these opportunities require a limited invest of time, while offering a significant reward. For specific information on any of the above opportunities, contact Courtney Leavitt or John Dillard at email
